In an important step to strengthen the relations of the two countries, the Turkish President received the UAE President in Istanbul in a meeting that was described as a working visit. Earlier, the UAE Minister of Economy, Abdullah bin Touq Al-Marri, indicated that “the UAE-Turkish relations are witnessing a new phase of the comprehensive strategic partnership,” and among the determinants of this phase is the signing by Turkey and the UAE of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, last March, in an effort To achieve mutual benefit between the two parties and stimulate economic growth through comprehensive and qualitative cooperation between them.

Regarding this agreement, the Emirati minister said at the time, “With the signing of the comprehensive economic partnership agreement by the two countries, we are looking forward to a promising future rich in trade, economic and investment opportunities, especially in light of the ambitious development plans adopted by the two countries that present promising opportunities in priority sectors in trade, investment, industry, tourism, transport and energy.” food, technology and other vital sectors.
This agreement provided for the abolition and reduction of customs duties on 82 percent of goods and products, exceeding 93 percent of non-oil trade operations between the two countries, in addition to enhancing access to Turkish markets by Emirati exporters, in a way that includes various major sectors.
